The General Purpose Laboratory for Production Shop Simulation aims to provide students, researchers, and educators an interactive platform to learn basics of modeling and simulation of production shops. Discrete next event stochastic simulation is used to simulate, observe and analyze the production systems.
The system is designed for audience from disciplines of Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering and MBA Schools.
The audience will be exposed to the basics of simulation like arrival process, probability distribution, job routes, servers, queuing systems and statistics collection. Starting from queuing systems and its associated queue disciplines, we will graduate to the basics of production shops and later to more complex production systems.Additional information necessary for different production shops will be provided at the relevant places during lessons.
This system has been developed using open source software such as HTML, PHP, C++, JAVA Script, JQuery, and MYSQL. This application is freely available for academic & research purposes through World Wide Web.
